This song is about the Iraq war. The lie is the lies perpetrated by the us government against the American and Iraqi people in order to go to war. The us is the dominant force in the relationship, and the song is from the perspective of the Iraqi people, who want to be let go from the us involvement. They are currently in the middle of a violent insurrection that is killing both us and Iraqi citizens. Iraq was the beginnings of civilization, and the "ending of it all" is the demise of civilization between the oldest and newest civilizations on the planet. He says you're my brother because we are all humanity, but our similarities are obscured by the fuckers in charge who risk the destruction of the human race in their greed and bloodlust.
