when i first heard this song, what caught my attention was the beat and the chorus. I was going through a very horrible phase in my life where i felt like i didnt belong and i wasnt enough, but someone sent me this song and they were willing tp listen to me. from my dreams to my fears. now, before you search what this song meant to 6lack and Jcole i think its key to personalise it and relate to it on your own level. for me it was a reminder that with all the shit i was going through, i was still someones light. it talks about the reality of relationships right from a relationship with yourself and with your lover and exposes sensuality, beauty, rawness and communication and need beyond words can ever explain.
