'Hoping we'll eat cake by the ocean' sounds to me like wedding cake during/after a beach wedding.
Or even a 1st anniversary in a hotel room with an ocean view where you'd eat the 'One-year anniversary cake' which is the top of a wedding cake, which you freeze till your first anniversary.
