I believe this song is about how a guy does a girl wrong in the past, she leaves him. But is basically playing him. Because you know revenge is harsh. She tells all of her friends bad things and then one night it gets to him. Hes basically saying he's sorry and he "takes off into the night" which means he left it all behind. I don't know I could be way wrong but its just what I got out of it.
