What a fun song,
I am sorry callmepsycho, but I think you have looked deeper that the meaning behind the song. Lucifer does not look forward to he rapture because that is the end of any power that he may have.
If anything evil will try to delay the rapture. But I think the surface meaning is most accurate, Robbie in his own way expressed his need for Jesus Christ.
The only point I would diagree with in Robbies song is that He wants perfection (as in Christ) but God does not request perfection from humans only obedience.
But I really like this song.
