Person is very high to take their mind off their sh*t lives. Shows how Olly used to take a lot of drugs and how that ruined his voice for his future performances. The lyrics further on: "be careful what you wish for" show how he had drugs and pleasure when he wished and yet he now regrets everything that has happened as it has led to the downgrading of his music which is nowhere near as good as it used to be. And he feels that this person has taken advantage of him hence why his music is no as good any more.

He can't be close to anyone, he just can't. That's because he wouldn't even know what to say, what to do to keep that person close to him. He may think that he's not enough to keep close someone and he's afraid to grow fond with somebody, because he doesn't want them to leave him. But at the same time he suffer being alone.. For him there's no way out and he yearns for that day, when everything will be too much and he won't care about anything anymore, about being alone, about being sad. He just wants to be completely numb.

My skin’s smothering me- is him talking about how hard it is for him to feel freedom. He feel claustrophobic with himself because of the depression. He can feeling ll of the pain he felt when he was self harming, being bullied and feeling depressed.
Help me find a way to breathe- He wants to be free but he don't know how to be free so he is asking for help. Because he don't want to feel claustrophobic in his own body.

This part to me means that the person is having an extremely hard time with life, whether it be regarding depression or something else. They're having to hide this hardship and it's destroying their entire being, so they're self medicating in a way- hence 'when it cuts you up this deep, its hard to find a way to breathe.
