This song means that he his seeing and feeling God in all his surroundings, on Klove the radio station he said that this song was inspired by the rain that was dripping down the windows of a castle in Ireland (I think it was Ireland) and the fact that each rain drop was striving to find the greater stream near by and that stream to the ocean and ultimately how God's presence is in everything that he created.

I think it's about how everyone is searching for something to fill the void that's in their hearts. As a raindrop is restlessly searching, we restlessly search. Some try to fill that void with drugs, s**, lies, busy schedules. But ultimately we're still restless. The only place to find our rest is jesus, and even believers, we will still feel that restlessness while on this earth. It will only be when we die and meet him in heaven that the restlessness will be satisfied.
