Ps. I believe it was a significant partner of the past (maybe his wife) and they're both trying to rekindle the feelings of what they had before but alas it ain't happenin. What a tune though. The song the album came from had depth and spiritual undertones. Perhaps because of commercial pressures they lost or had to foresake their perceptive reflective outlook and only a few songs subsequently touched on their true nature of sagacity and insight. Post your thoughts people.

I've listened to this song for years and sang along happily enjoying the beat, rhythm and the distinctive under beat. Amazing for real. Having viewed the lyrics here is my take on them.
He's with a woman who he feels he has to perform sexually for and make it lasting and special. Clearly he feels he can't or doesn't and she remarks she just wants an embrace and a emotional connection despite his masculine ego explaining his lack lustre efforts by (Some story I told). I'm probably totally wrong but it doesn't matter does it?
