To me this is a song that is a warning. It acknowledges that everyone has friends, but it demonstrates that you should choose your friends with caution. No-one knows what life will bring and in light of that, the song serves as wise advice to suggest that you should keep good company for the more testing times in life. More obviously, it teaches of how you should be observant of the actions of the socalled 'skin deep, ' whom are implied to be close friends that you may not be able to confide in as well as you think you can.
It inspires me to want to write lyrics, timeless track full of wisdom.
