Snow Patrol – Called Out In The Dark lyrics

Tameflame, generally good analysis, but I wonder. I've got it on repeat trying to tease out the lyrics. Yours is the best analysis I've seen so far, but the video was released in august. That is, the song was written and well in production when the london riots occurred. There were the earlier riots in the spring, but they don't fit as well. Also, the band has ties/influence from the likes of u2, and much of their stuff is disguised religion and I see hints of that here. God is taking names. We are all on the list. The only ones not coming to the party are those who choose not to attend. It's time for peace and progress or getting left in the madness. We all are either on the same page or we are lost in the dark. It's not hard to be honest and admit the world is deteriorating. It's supposed to. God is the cool part. The world is gradually turning against the creator of it. For really no reason other than a label or a faker that said he is whatever it is they say. There is no discrimination, denomination, or picket sign that is useful to god. It's demonstration he asks for. So who is the best example of how we should be living? That of course is jesus. That my friends makes you a follower of christ. That's it. So all we all need to do is be honest with ourselves which makes us honest with others. We all need one another as a unit. Whoever chooses to argue peace with picket signs and scream ignorance with graffiti to be heard probably isn't the team I would wanna be on.
The song is awesome. I'm pretty sure each of us sees our own way the lyrics rep light vs dark. Magic and stars or rituals and regression. It's your call. God is just crossing his fingers hoping you don't choose to be an idiot. ;) be blessed.

I think this is about god, i'll explain: god is light when you're not into him you're in the dark, on the first verse says "it's like we just can't help ourselves.
'cause we don't know how to back down.
We were called out to the streets.
We were called in to the towns" it's god calling him, cuz when we are lost when we say can hold on in this life, we are at the point we just can't it is true we can't more but we can't more alone, we can more with god so "it's like we just can't help ourselves".
Then on the second verse says: "and how the heavens, they opened up.
Like arms of dazzling gold" in here he sees god's calling him, he sees the light, and here "with our rain washed histories.
Well they do not need to be told" when you go on god's arms he don't care about your past, he erases every bad thing you made, it's a new life.
Then in the 3rd verse says "we are listening.
And we're not blind" he's saying the truth cuz' we all listen god, is just don't care what god says, we all se his charming glory we are not blind is just we let it pass away, then it says "this is your life.
This is your time" this is our life we choose let it go, living what we think is happiness when is not, we all feel lost or empty is cuz we need god, this is our time cuz you now yolo, we don't know when we are going to die so let's not die empty.
And in the end says I was called out in the dark.

It talks about after the magical meeting with god that "perfect week" after that it comes the prove and your like god please hepl me here! But in the last verse repeat the chorus so he keeps inviting you to know god cuz happen what happen is worth it.
How I know this? Cuz I was listening lifening and then called out in the dark, listening close to the lyrics so much coincidence, so much how I felt when I met god, i'll tell you a thin snow patrol is my fav' band I really met god like 2 weeks ago or maybe 3 I know what I'm feeling the feeling is fresh on my mind.
