    I was there; so close to giving up. Where I thought that ending it would have been a thousand times easier than pushing on. To look past the struggle. But I was wrong. There's always hope. There's always something beautiful. There's always a reason to live your life. Is anything really worth dying over? You're stronger than you think you are. You can do anything if you believe in yourself. Wether you pull through on your own, with the help of a stranger, of a friend, your family, or a song. Your story is a beautiful one, make is as long as ou possibly can, and tell it to the world. I can't say your life will always be perfect, but I can guarantee it will always be worth the fight. You're beautiful, you're strong, you've got this, you'll pull through, you're special, unique, an individual at its best. Without you nothing would be the same. You mean a lot more than you think you do. Don't let anybody or anything get you to believe otherwise.

    Everyone has that one song, book, poem, story, whatever that is their salvation. Their savior. The one thing that will always be there no matter what happens. It can't actually leave their life. This is about that persons song that was the one thing he could count on to be there when he needed it, and needed a push in the right direction. We all need them, we all have them. Its what keeps us going.

    This song pretty much says very thing that I would say to the members of simple plan if I had the chance to meet them. They've been the only thing keeping me going for pretty much the past nine years of my life, and I don't know who, or where I would be if it wasn't for them. I give them a lot of credit, because if I wasn't for there music, and lyrics that explained everything that I have/still feel, I don't think I would be here right now. I've felt like there was no hope, like nothing would ever get better, but once I listened to there music, it gave me hope and a reason to move forward. I hope I have a chnce to meet them someday, because they have helped me more than anyone else in this world has.

    This song saved my life. I have one person to rely on and this song makes me think about them. Without them. I would be dead by now. I don't know if I would be alive now if it wasn't for that song. Everyone needs someone worth living for. Most people don't think about that cuz they love life but for us that have trouble living day by day this song reminds us of our saviour.

    I love this song so much and it's true simple plans songs have helped me get through my own tough times but its not even that. I write poems that catalog my life in my own book and that has also helped me. So I think this song is written as a "lets look back into pierre's life and see how it has changed" instead of actual song that was playing. :)!

    "chuck had the idea of writing a song that was going to be called "this song saved my life", the inspiration from it was just our fans. We have so many stories through letters or online that have said, "without you, or without simple plan I don't know if I would even be here today, " or "your music has helped me so much" or something so touching like that, and it just made us realize how powerful music can be and how much it can have a positive influence on peoples' lives. We feel just hearing those stories is overwhelming and we felt the need to talk about that. We started writing it ourselves but it was kinda forced and a little bit cheesy. Really what we needed was exactly what they were saying and what they were talking about. So then came the idea of using our twitter--why don't we just ask them, you know? The answers just started pouring in and we watched them come up and said, "ok that line is amazing, set it aside. " we made it like a puzzle: took the lines, chopped 'em up, and made them into what it is today. It's something we're definitely proud of and i think--for me anyway--i'm pleasantly surprised at how it turned out, because when we were making it, i wasn't sure. It could've been good or cheesy, but really it sounds so genuine and so touching and emotional, i'm really proud of it. " ~pierre.

    When I heard the lyrics “because of you my dad and me are so much closer than we used to be” I immediately thought of the song “Perfect” which was the very first song and video of there’s to make the pop/rock charts here in the states. It was really their breakout, give or take some songs in teen movies. The opening lyrics go “Hey dad look at me, think back and talk to me, did I grow up according to plan”...” 'Cause we lost it,Nothin' lasts forever, I'm sorry I can't be perfect”. It sounded like a love note to their past and how far they’ve come in music and in life.

    It helps me realize that even though I may be hated or lost I do have one person that has came into my life. He makes me feel better and he really did make me and my dad closer hes an amazing bf and I give this song to him. Hes always been on my side and he always will be I know ill never have to be alone. I'm not broken any more I'm happy, I realize to take so many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a mintue of happiness you'll never get back! So take my words live life to the fulliest and just have fun.

    Its showing that having been stuck in a small town or city that your never alone and that the singer of the song is thanking the person who wrote the song thanking them for helping them think through what they were planing before they went and commited suicide. Really this song is a song for a lot of the kids who think they are alone in the world. I kinda hate to say it but I was pretty close to suicide myself and it wasnt this song per say but it was another song/songs that actually helped me get through the couple points in my life where it was so close for me to have it bieng acomplished. I really wish that the kids that have already comited suicide had heard this song before.

    I love this song. It's really beautiful! I think everyone who truly loves music and is into bands can relate to it. To me it sounds like they are quoting things fans have said to them, due to their songs and music. Like. 'because of you my dad and me are so much closer', as a reference to perfect, and many lines that could relate to 'welcome to my life'. I think that's such a beautiful thing to do.
