Puscifer – Toma lyrics
Toma
Toma
Toma
Toma
Toma guey

Stole my patience, stole my pride
Snatched the rhythm from my stride
Kicked my certainty up the middle
Knocked the wind out of my romantic side

Hopes and wishes set aflame
What's your purpose here, whatcha hope to gain?
Took my dignity, you took my dignity
Burned a lover so earned an enemy.

Time to make it right, that's how it's gonna be.
Watch you pay the toll right in front of me
Time to pay your dues, time to set you straight
Take what you dish out. Toma guey.

Hopes and wishes set aflame
What's your purpose here, whatcha hope to gain?
Took my dignity, you took my dignity
Lost a lover and earned an enemy.

Time to make it right, that's how it's gonna be.
Watch you pay the toll right in front of me
Time to pay your dues, time to set you straight
Take what you dish out. Toma guey.

I'm hesitant to post lyrics changes in case there's an official booklet or something. That said, I'm fairly sure that it's "pay the toll/right in front of me", and "toma guey" rather than "toma away". Toma guey being fairly common (spanish) slang and making a lot more sense. An insult to the song's subject is more in character than telling them to 'take it away'.
    Someone look into this, maybe?

"for instance, in overboard we hear a rather humorous mockery being made about those who think 2012 will be a biblical flood. "
What is your proof for this? There's nothing in the lyrics other than mentions of a sailing vessel, the fact that there are women and children on board with the sailors, and that a mythical greek god is going to hit them with an incredible storm.
Given the rest of your comment, you sound like someone that can see an agenda everywhere and read what you want into just about anything. People like you tend to be very susceptible to hypnotic suggestion.

There's a song like this on every album including tool and apc, but I think it's more a personal release of anger than a generalization of society because it's so intense and uses the specific pronoun of "you" so much. The generalized societal commentaries are usually a little more dissociated. Does mjk really like to mock 2012 enough to hide it in that many places because once would be enough unless he thinks there's more to it. ~d

I think of the occupy wall street movement when I hear this song. Everything maynard says in this song fits how a person might feel about the corporate takeover of america and personal freedom. Then he says toma guey and your going to get what you deserve.
This album I think is very critical about what is going on in our society. For instance, in overboard we hear a rather humorous mockery being made about those who think 2012 will be a biblical flood. At the same time it is about personal spiritualism and growth with songs like green valley and monsoons. As usual, he continues to challenge people to develop personal spiritualism as well as social awareness of those who seek to diminish or stop ones spiritual and personal growth.

Funny someone mentioned that it made them think of the occupy ws movement. I'd like to point out corporate america doesn't take away freedoms, it's the government that takes away freedoms! (that would be more in the tea party realm).
But I don't see that at all, I don't see the where politics is mentioned. I see this as raw emotion. Comming from true experience, not some political agenda, as many of you want to spin it that way.
This to me is someone tossing aside their dignity to seek revenge. Doing what feels so good, but you know is wrong.
    Mamma sed. Keep your dignity.
