    The song was written by Richie Furay of Poco about Gram Parsons and is on the album/cd Crazy Eyes. Don't know what it means other than he mentions Brass Buttons in the song which Gram Parsons wrote about his alcoholic mother. Love Poco, but do not especially like the song myself.
