Maybe the first verse describes the time hes had with someone he loves but they have to part. He still loves that person but he has to leave their relationship. So he "drags the anchor up and sails off" but its ok because the times theyve had together don't turn to dust or fade away. He goes to the "countryside" or another direction and discovers so many beautiful things but he still misses that person. The last verse I think its that he misses that person but this place is so good. And how everything comes to an end. Its still ok cause dreams don't turn to dust :)

Hello adam I love your songs sssooo much. You inspire me and my band faith to charity. I guess your right dreams don't turn to dust, not as long if we believe in ourselves and not only in us but believe that our dreams will come true. Well your not the only one that's been broken hearted I just like you, am to. But we have to under stand that we can't look back at the past look whats in front of you. Maybe you have something special coming your way but your dystany wont come if you keeplooking behind you! Its like this for example how can I hear my new dystany guy calling if I keep looking back to my old boy friend just standing there with his new girlfriend! I have to accept life so we have to take a giant step forword and not back words! The guys that I've been with for the lats few years told me that iwas to childesh and to faciouse I don't think that playing with barbies is a bad thing or to make songs out of evey thing that I see. You know what I said my self after my old boyfriend told me that we are over I said to my self maybe ill just quit writting songs but then again my mommy told me you just ignore the things they or he said. That's when istarted to write more songs of how I was broken hearted and hey I don't blame any song you write cause thers a saying through out life if you a singer and a song writter its that music is based on what you live by or see! So don't let the words hurt you cause at the end of every concet you" adam young"have, you will say fewww glad that's done with and youll thank god for it. By the way did I mention I and my band are a huge fan of owl city :) your cute by the way! So don't let the coments you read hurt you ya. I like this song, even though I am a fan of owl city, I vehemently disagree with some of adam young's lyrics. Here is a list of song I will never, never, ever listen to again by adam young:.

I respect the fact that adam young is a christian, and I am, too. But, he's stuck in the past. Yeah, he's broken his heart like a million times, but life is still worth living because of god. He needs to move on. How many of his songs are about him and someone he has loved/loves, and how he's lost them? We, as humans, are more than capable to get past heart break, that's why there is heart break, because god knows that it will make us stronger. God ordains everything that comes to pass, and he is the saving grace of the galaxies.
I can't stand hospital flowers because I've had two friends die in car accidents within the past 4 months. But, at the same time, it's a very allegory. My friends' deaths have made me realize just how fragile our world, as humans, is. We can't control when or how we die, or how long we live, we just have to place all our hope in god. Adam young needs to move out of this genre, loneliness, dreaming & love. However, I will not deny that I would love to talk to adam young. To discuss his song lyrics and his faith in god. That's why I like owl city, because I am lonely, and I've lost people very dear to me. However, I am in somewhat full contempt of those who go screaming around in circles, squealing, "omg! I love adam young! He's so perfect, and adorable, and, yada, yada, yada. " if you really love someone, then you are willing to see their flaws and failures, to challenge them about their flaws and failures, and to try to help them with their flaws and failures. No one is perfect, that is one of the basic things about christianity; we can't live without god, we can't do anything to justify ourselves before god, only christ can. So, signing off, if you, adam young, ever do see this post, then know that I do care for you, but that you have problems. You're broken, like hugo, and you need to be fixed. God is fixing you, but, "we are caught in the in-between of who we already are and who we're yet to be.
