All song lyrics are what you make of them as it relates to your life. This song can be taken many ways, but it seems pretty clear that it's a battle inside your mind over fighting a drug addiction. Neither side is sacred, no one wants to win. If you're on drugs, you have good people and bad people in your life. You don't see it that way, but there's a clear divide. The grass is always greener on the other side. If you're on it, you want to be off. If you're off it, you likely miss it. You're the fog that keeps me clear. That's how you feel when you're on it. "You're the reason I feel pain, feels so good to feel again." This line represents angst and shame of being addicted, or the pain you feel when you get off it, cause you get yourself back, no longer numb, you feel grateful to feel anything, especially pain. Addiction is about killing the pain. Get rid of the addiction and you face the pain on your own. And it's worth it. It feels good to feel again.
