I think it means they've been together a while, that she depended on him a lot, they've helped each other to grow as people, but they started to grow apart. She now feels she has to go out on her own, either to pursue a career or explore new feelings, but either way find her place. He doesn't want her to go, she is saying she has to (because she cannot fully commit to him now) but telling him not to worry cuz he'll find someone else and that she'll have to be ok with that if he does.

I think you're all wrong. I think she loved him, but despite that the relationship just didn't work out. She left because since it wasn't 'right', that meant it had to be 'wrong'. And he put up a fight and begged her to stay, but she said you'll find someone who loves you more than I could, even though she can't stand him with anyone else (though she should). Isn't it obvious?

Why can't this just be about a woman who loves a man, but realizes that she allowed herself to be consumed by the love and knows that she needs to become her own person. Even though she knows that she doesn't want him to love someone else, it is what is best for both of them. I am not saying it is not about adoption or betrayal, it just seems more about the love of another man or woman rather than a child.

It's obvious to me that she cheated on him, and she doesn't know how to get out of it. She is trapped in her life of sin, and she sees no way out of the situation. The voice in her head was Satan whispering to her, and she listened. She now realizes the mistake she made, but she feels it's too late. The other girl has yet to come into the situation, and she hates the thought of him with another woman. She thinks that there is no way he can trust her again, and so he would be better off with someone else.

I also think she needs to be independent and find out who she really is as her world revolves around him and she has lost herself in the process. She loves him but needs to find herself and knows he needs to move on and not wait to see what she finds. She needs to accept that he will find another so she can go find out who she is.

I think that this song is about a mother who is thinking about giving her child up for adoption, I could be way off here but the lyrics make sense to me that way. It's a higher sort of love she feels for her child, but cannot take care of the child for whatever reason, and someone must stand where she stood. But she's around if the child should ever call. I dunno. What do you think?

This song probably means that there's problems in the relationship and she's fed up with it since she doesn't know who she is with him which she should, but at the end it also says he taught her how to trust herself probably meaning it pushed her to the point where she can move on and if he should wonder why, its cause she learned how to let him go by giving him up to someone else who can love him that way.
