    I read somewhere that the song is about Toy Caldwel's lover. Evidently she was insanely jealous and couldn't stand him going out on the road and leaving her. As the story goes, she threatened to kill herself if he left to play on the road. He did leave, and she followed through with her threat. He was so distraught, that he penned Can't You See.
