Sometimes. Accepting our problems seems like the hardest thing to do. We focus on it as though we were jumping hurdles. When in fact. That's all it is. If you allow yourself to you can overcome even the greatest of situations. "if you hold on tight, shadows will be lost in the light. Oh cos sometimes, fate and your dreams will collide". We're countries apart, and we tried to hold on to each other though things are just so difficult. But now that you have decided to move on without me because you feel that this relationship will bring more hurt in the long run, but as this song goes 'but if we hold tight, shadows will be lost in the light'. I can only wish that you would come back and not walk away.

Sounds like joe brooks' life story. Love lost, never forgotten. Remember jennifer corly in "if ever i see you again? " he never got over her. "it was that bad man, it was that bad... The only girl i ever composed anything for... " in later years, he hired escorts who had to be very young. Teens preferred. And whom he made read a script telling him how much they loved him, how handsome he was. Until his death, looking to fill the hole the girl who jilted him in his teens left behind.

When the thing you've been trying to do is failing (leaving holes inside your heart) whether it's in a relationship, studies or work, and you're about to give up, keep holding on tightly. Cause soon, the troubles, the doubts will get 'lost in the light'. So don't walk away from the problems, don't walk away from the problems. When all the trouble is burdening you, you have no faith, no hope, keep holding tight to the one thing you are dedicated to do. Because what we want, isn't what we're supposed to get (fate and dreams will collide). Don't walk away from problems, everything's gonna be okay. Just stay, hold on and succeed :)

*This is not written by me, just sharing as I think that this is quite accurate*.
For the sake of arguement, i'll use the singer as he, and whomever he's singing to as her.
I interpret these lyrics in that the guy singing is wanting to work out a relationship with someone who isn't interested in the same outcome. Perhaps she's given up on him or them.
"but if you hold tight, shadows will be lost in the light. " perhaps means let go of the bad times, and they'll be drown out by the good times that could be had if things were to work out.
However: "oh cos sometimes, fate and your dreams can collide. " seems to portray that things just aren't supposed to work out the way he wants them too. His dreams are for things to work but fate has another plan in store, which is her not wanting to work things out.
"when all that you've tried, leaves holes inside" would probably mean he's tried, but it's just not happening and he's got holes deep inside of him that can't be filled with the void of her.
I relate to this song as I'm going through a divorce and in past times, had really tried working things out. It leaves holes inside that can't be filled immediately.

I don't think this song necassarily is talking about relationships. To me it seems more like a story about life. About being a person who isn't perfect just trying to live in a world where people expect them to be. About overcoming the times in life when everything is going wrong and the 'light' seems very far away. Its a beautiful song that can be analysed be a million different angles, an upset lover, a suicidal person, a struggling parent. All that matters is that you can listen to the beauty of the song and be reassured that life has more to it. This isn't the end of the road.
