Eraserheads – Ang Huling El Bimbo lyrics
Kamukha mo si Paraluman
No'ng tayo ay bata pa
At ang galing-galing mong sumayaw
Mapa-Boogie man o Chacha

Ngunit ang paborito
Ay pagsayaw mo ng El Bimbo
Nakakaindak, nakakaaliw
Nakakatindig balahibo

REFRAIN 1

CHORUS

Naninigas aking katawan
'Pag umikot na ang plaka
Patay sa kembot ng bewang mo
At pungay ng 'yong mga mata

Lumiliwanag ang buhay
Habang tayo'y magkaakbay
At dahan-dahang dumudulas

(CHORUS)

La la la la, la la, la la, la la la

Lumipas ang maraming taon
'Di na tayo nagkita
Balita ko'y may anak ka na
Ngunit walang asawa

Tagahugas ka raw
Ng pinggan sa may Ermita
At isang gabi'y nasagasaan
Sa isang madilim na eskinita, hah

REFRAIN 3

(CHORUS 2x)

CODA
La la la la, la la, la la, la la la [2x]

    This is my bold interpretation.

Ang Huling El Bimbo is a song about two former fuckbuddies. Huling El Bimbo or "Last Dance" used to be a slang phrase for last f*ck. Also, "tagahugas ng pinggan sa may Ermita" is an old slang phrase which decribes a person—usually someone who grew up in the province—who now works as a prostitue in the city. The phrase is often used to describe a male sex worker or atleast an erotic/macho dancer.

El Bimbo and Cha-Cha are both madaling matututunan unless may iba pa silang dance steps na iniimbento. How can people miss all the sexual innuendos in this song?

Another thing, yung POV. Tandaan na yung music video was directed by the same director who directed one of the most iconic pinoy gay movie called "Ang Pagdadaaga ni Maximo Oliveros." And it is rumored na minadali yung production ng MV since maraming binago,Ever wonder kung bakit random yung mga character sa MV, it's because they had to change it in order to be socially acceptable sa international audience.

Not sure if the eskinita thing convey a different message as usually how can a vehicle goes through tiny bit of spaces - but it seems that this sutbly indicate that she may have been murdered on the dark alley.

I guess throughout the years we've known Eraserheads to be subtly giving double meaning to its songs.

This song is about a boy who would always go to a girl's house to learn how to dance the El Bimbo, and in doing so ends up falling in love with the girl. Years have passed and the girl already has a child, but no husband. She also has a job as a dishwasher in Ermita and ends up dead after being run over by a car. Afterwards, all of his hopes with the girl melted away, and the only way he can ever dance with her again is in his dreams.

This is song was awesome, even now I want to hear this song, because this song is based on a person who fell in love with the person teach him to dance El Bimbo. I hope Eraserheads make another songs that reflect our lives, and I hope there's part two of El Bimbo Song.

This is def one of the best opm songs produced. The rhythm, the story behind perfectly fits the whole song. I really like the story because I know most of us can probably relate to the guy's situation, regretting everything in the end and since most of us are typical hopeless romantics, this song really goes with the feelings we have towards love.

I know many of us thinks that this is all about love story, yah ganun din ako nung una but try to deepen and widen your minds to revealed the true story of this song. What's the true story behind this song?

I like this song. It's about a boy who likes this girl a lot. And he looks forward to the times of the day when the girl would teach him to dance because it's the only time he would be able to hold her hand and she taught him to love. . And I am guessing a few years have past and the girl he is still in love has a baby but with no father present, with a dead end job, who in the end, dies in a car crash. And now he is sad because he wasn't able to express his love to her because it's too late.
    Kinda sad.

It's about love that has not been renounced. It's a song of regret. The song tells us that we should not be afraid to love before it's too late. Eraserheads made it as a story so the listeners would relate on that time when the music was released (back in the '70s or '80s).
