The song makes me think of someone who has nothing to lose, and is ready to die for something, or nothing.
"No reason to live for, one reason to die for" and all is said is eternal wait.
Nothing about heaven or hell.
This is almost a grand finale song. Like "okay my goal has been achieved, I am ready.
"Somewhere over the forgotten sea, The voice of an angel is calling for me."
Maybe an allusion to heaven? The forgotten sea being the way to heaven and the land being heaven itself?
"I have carried this burden so long for you, and nothing but sorrow I feel." Most likely something has happened that has made him feel sympathy towards someone or something even.
"Never has the wind blown like thousand years ago, everything that I've known has left me on my own, Never have I felt the rain fall down like the burning flames, All I see is the face of eternal wait."
Someone's world must have literally been flipped. Rain feeling like fire, and everything that they've know has been a lie? Eternal wait doesn't seem so bad after something of that caliber.
