The lies, lies and utter lies, the make believe two worlds, the sham, the threat, glib expressions of caring while mocking one in reality, the kindness with which bones were thrown (in the forms of hugs) to extract something in return, the public mocking on dumping, and, yes, never admiting that it was dumping but hiding behind it is a break.
To think this song is sung by a woman... when she is best equipped to unleash the worst treatments.

It's defo a love song, the timing was wrong for each other. Someone else shared their interestand you had to live the lie and suffer from a far, you was made to feel a clown because your love was real, but you troopered on and your mask was your makeup, your heart was broken you couldn, t make them see that you should have been soulmates but someone else had taken that away from you and you had to suffer from afar and carry on.
