Christina Perri – Bluebird lyrics
How the hell does a broken heart
Get back together when it's torn apart
And teach itself to start beating again

This little bluebird
Came looking for you
I said that I hadn't seen you
In quite some time
!

This little Bluebird
She came looking again
I said we weren't even friends
She could have you

Don't you think it was hard,
I didn't even say that you died
But it wouldn't have been such a lie
'Cause then I started to cry

This little bluebird
Sure won't give it a rest
She swears that you may be
Better than all the rest

I said no no no
You've got it all wrong
If he was something special
I wouldn't have this song

Don't you think it was hard,
I didn't even say that you died
But it wouldn't have been such a lie
'Cause then I started to cry

How the hell does a broken heart
Get back together when it's torn apart
Teach itself to start beating again

What if when she comes over
I am in your arms
Taking all I want from you again
Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba ba ba

How the hell does a broken heart
Get back together when it's torn apart
Teach itself to start beating again

How the hell does a broken heart
Get back together when it's torn apart
Teach itself to start beating again
Beating again

This little bluebird
Don't come 'round here anymore
So I went looking for her
And I found you

I thnk this song plays with the idea that her own consciousness/heart is extended to anothr form (blue bird)its a story of a girl and her friend that she loved with al her heart. They broke up n he was dead to her. She was numb. Then one day she startd to feel sumthng again (the bluebird hadnt seen her in quite sum tym). She doesn't want 2trust her heart (bluebird) n argues that this guy is no gud dat thers nothing special bout hm. Convincing herself they can't b together even believin he is prob wid sum1 else. Throughout the song she asks herself how does she mend her heart wel wen she goes lukin 4da bluebird its her havin mended her heart n she is ready to find her lover once more. Alternatively her heart was broken by the death of her loved one n she journeys to mend her heart again n get bak out der n finds true love again.

Good search about bluebirds. The difference of the bluebirds from the humans is they have to mate to many bluebirds for their species to survive and be alive on this planet. Unlike the humans they know what is morally right from wrong. In general, humans mate because of love for each other and not specifically for purpose of procreation. But of course, any gender of the human race has a choice to select the mate they want to procreate with and spend their life with forever. In reality, two persons who gave their hearts to each other would make their union forever unlike the bluebirds.

I think its about a relationship where she has found out he was cheating and this woman that he has been cheating on her with thinks she has it all and believes herself to be the best but once he leaves that woman to be back with his ex she finds him cheating again. So basically the guy doesn't know what he wants and keeps breaking this poor girls heart.

She was best friends with this guy forever and she liked him and never told him but then they got separated for years, now she found him again but he's changed. He told that he never wanted to see her again that they were never really friends and he said she was insain for thinking they could ever be together. She didn't expect him to act like that so she felt the person she knew had died. Then another girl came to ask her about him because she liked him too and she kept trying to tell her he's no good but she didn't want to listen.

I have listened to this song at least 50 times trying to figure it out. And now I think I have. I went on google and did a search for "bluebird mating habits". And this is what I found:.
Avian ecologists have found that eastern bluebirds display unusual mating habits which may explain the social behavior of many songbirds. They have also confirmed that the eastern bluebird is among the north american birds known to be socially monogamous but genetically polyandrous and polygynous.
Eastern bluebirds were once believed to be monogamous birds. But many scientists have discovered that they no longer stick to just one mate. The females may be socially monogamous but they are capable of mating with more than one male bird. Sometimes, they even have several broods from different mates. In fact, broods sired by different males are said to grow healthier and therefore, have a good chance of surviving.
Dna testing has confirmed that female bluebirds tend to multiply their mate. A research showed that 19 percent of bluebird chicks were not related to their supposedly fathers and 30 to 60 percent of individual nests contain babies from more than one male mate. Studies have also found that male bluebirds may have more than one nest and one mate. Eggs in one nest may not necessarily mean that they had the same father.
The female eastern bluebird's habit of multiplying her mates is said to be beneficial rather than detrimental in many situations. One reason points to the fact that females normally do not have a chance of seeing all available mates before picking a mate. So if a female selects a mate from a limited group, a better mate might come by the following day. Another reason for multiply mating is that the chosen mate may not have the best territory or the best site to build a nest. Or the male that is most helpful may not have the best genes for battling parasites. Other studies have different explanations like the female bluebirds mate with other males in the hope of finding a responsible partner to care for her young notably when her original mate leaves the nest for a long time.
As for the males, they practice various strategies especially the floaters or those males that do not have their own territory. The options of these male bluebirds are to share a female with another male, challenge a male for his territory or replace a male that has died or left the nest for good. The adult survival rate is said to be low among bluebirds thus, many females become widowed or deserted by their mates early on.
A female eastern bluebird may produce two broods in one breeding season. In this case, the first nest usually starts in the early part of spring while the second nest starts in summer.

I think that the girl used to date the guy she's talking about. They were in love, but they broke up for some reason and haven't spoken in a while. One of her friends starts dating the guy, and she tries to hide that she's hurt but she cries anyways. Her friend thinks the guy is wonderful, but the girl thinks he isn't because he hurt her. But they reconnect, probably because the friend is around him a lot and they're seeing each other again. So they start to have an affair behind the friends back. And even though she's kinda happy that they're together again, her heart's still broken because he is dating her friend and cheating on her, and he isn't all hers again. The friend finds out about them having an affair, and breaks up with the guy. She isn't friends with the girl anymore either, but the girl got the guy because her friend left him.

It is a song about losing someone and to me it is in death. How does one really mend a broken heart when the one true love dies? The blue bird is significant as so many want you to "move on" and a blue bird is typically used in fairy tales as "happiness" and the blue bird keeps coming back and you don't even tell those blue birds that your true love died. You can't even speak the words as there is no happiness anywhere in the beginning. Then as time goes on you start to get angry and begin telling the blue birds they are wrong, there is no way to mend a broken heart! You can't even say the words that he is gone forever because those words feel like a lie and you start to cry again. You start dreaming that you are back together again and just want to be where your true love is and imagine being in you true loved one’s arms. Oh, how so awesome and sweet that feeling would be! Then the little blue bird could come as you would be happy again and not all torn apart. Then as you tell yourself the truth that your true love is dead and begins to try and put your broken torn heart together again and to teach your heart to beat-- you begin to realize that you are the little bluebird to do what is needed!
