Bring Me The Horizon – Don't Go lyrics
I was raised in the valley, there was shadows and death.
Got out
alive but with scars I can't forget.
This kid
back in school, subdued and shy.
An orphan and a brother and unseen by most eyes.

I don't know what it was that made a piece of him die,
Took a
boy to the forest, slaughtered him with a scythe.
Stamped on his face, an impression in the dirt.
Do you
think the silence makes a good man convert?

We all have our horrors and our demons to fight.
But how can I win, when I'm paralyzed?
They crawl up on
my bed, wrap their fingers round my throat.
Is this what I get for the choices that I made?
God forgive me, for
all my sins. God forgive me, for everything.
God forgive me, for all my sins. God forgive me, God forgive me.

Don't go, I can't do this on my own.
Don't go, I can't do this on my own.
Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night.
I can't live with myself, so stay with me tonight.
Don't go.
Don't go.

[Lights:]
If I let
you in, you'd just want out.
If I tell you the
truth, you'd fight for a lie.
If I spilt my guts
, it would make a mess we can't clean up.
If you follow me, you
will only get lost.
If you try to get
closer, we'll only lose touch.
Yes you already know too
much, and you're not going anywhere.

Tell me that you need
me 'cause I love you so much.
Tell me that you love me 'cause I need you so much.
Tell me that you need me 'cause I love you so much.
Say you'll never leave me 'cause I need you so much.

Don't go, I can't do this
on my own.
Don't go, I can't do this on my own.
Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night.
I can't live with myself, so stay with me tonight.
Don't go, I can't do this on
my own.
Don't go.
Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night.
I can't live with myself, so stay
with me tonight.
Don't go.

[Lights:]
Don't go. [x11]

Honestly, It is my Favorite song, but most friends hate it because you can't understand the lyrics, true sort of unless you adapt to the style (as I have done so) and honestly you couldn't say these lyrics any better without screaming them but its not like non-sense screaming it sounds like a sad soul, screaming for help, there's emotion and depth to it that just has reached a level I have never felt in a metal song, If you know a song that fits my description by all means tell me the name.

The song is based off of a true story, a murder in england. The boy was terry lee hurst who was murdered by 3 other teenagers with a scythe and his head was smashed on the ground and a bag was put over his head. He survived over 60 wounds, but when he tried to get away after all that, they impailed the bigger of the two scythes into his neck, killing him.

I think this song is talking about being in a relationship and he did something terrible that he resents doing to her that made her hurt really bad so he wants to be forgiven but has a problem forgiving himself he doesn't want her leave because he is nothing without her she says shes not going anywhere but he fears that she will and it just adds to all his other problems in life b/c of this inccident all his demonds are coming back.

It's knowing, that you've done so much 'bad' in the past- yet you have such a beautiful, perfect form of 'good' in human form trying to love you. You fear they'll never accept your 'demon', the bad things you've done yet all you want is their acceptance. And you know, they can't fix what's broken, but you don't wont them to leave either, because then you'll have nothing, but you're still trying to understand how they could accept your flaws and your self-resentment.

I think the guy telling the story has grown up in a place where he feels as though no one cares and that they are all agianst him. He feels alone. He has scars from moments in his life he can't erase, no matter how bady he wishes to do so. He is apparently depressed and front what the girl in the song to leave him. He loves her and wants her to love him because he needs her there ~_~ and so he is crying out don't go.

Dang the real story that goes with this song is horrifing. All of you guys shud really read it. Its sad. In my oppinion, I dnt think the girl shud get out, she should have a life sentence, or worse. Including the other 2. They have no right to kill a person like that and leave him in a ditch with a bag over his head. That's just messed up. But for all of you who know the true story. Then you know what the real meaning is to this song, and for all of you who don't know the real story to the song, look up terry hurst. Everyone deserves to live.
    Are. I. P terry hurst.

I don't think the song is about terry I think he is using terry as a metaphor to himself I think the key verse is.
"do you think that silence makes a good man convert"
how when he was younger he wasnt paid attention to and his decision to live how he did that caused struggles that have conitinued to this day.
When light sings it seems as if God is talking to him and both are haivng a conversation.

The song is about a persons life and that the person had a hard and unforgettable childhood. The kid that the person knew had problems and didn't know how to cope with them. He killed a boy. The silence and the loneliness made this kid snap. The person feels alone and just wants someone to stay with him and accompany him. The person doesn't want to tell you about the past or what he/she has been through but he/she just wants you to be with him/her. The person actually wants god to forgive him/her although he/she needs someone just to stay with him/her. Awesome song! Its just my opinion :).

It's about a 17 year old boy named terry hurst with a learning disorder who loved the outdoors. He was invited on a camping trip by rebecca peeters, john sawdon, and jermain james in the uk years ago. The 3 killers went to go get alcohol from their houses and on the way back to the camp site they went past a church with a small farm around it. They stole 2 agricultural scythes that were in the field. They weren't drunk though. They got back to the camp sight while terry hurst was sleeping. They dragged him out of his tent in his boxers and shorts. He saw the scythes swinging at him so he ran for his life. They eventually caught up with him. The hacked his body with over 100 stab wounds and 66 cuts. It was manslaughter to say the least. They left his body in a ditch nearby the church. There was a bag over his head. One of the scythes was still lodged in his skull. The 3 stomped on his face so hard it made an impression in the dirt. They were supposed to be in jail for life. But chances are they're getting out early. Rebecca peeters is going t for sure. Even though it was her idea and she made a death threat to him before. But it is what the songh is about. One of the was not oli sykes'cousin. A truly sad song. I think the 3 of them should die. But that's just my opinion.

This song is amazing but to me it is more than just a song, it explains the fealings I have for a guy named sean stoner, he lives in howard city, he told me he once loved me then he broke my heart because my brother jacob champlin told me he didn't mean it and I almost killed myself for that awsome guy. It doesn't matter beacause no matter what he won't ever love me like I love him!

This song was written in memory of terry hurst. He was tooken to a forest and he was slaughtered with agricultural scythes by his "friends". They stomped on his face and left the biggest scythe embedded in his neck to his skull. It's horrible what they did to him. Terry was mentally disabled and a lot of people bullied him. There's two sides to this story. I've heard that terry hurst was oli's cousin. And I've heard that one of the murderers is oli's cousin. Either way, this song was written in his memory.
Are. I. P terry hurst, forever in our hearts.

This song is about a 17 year old boy named terry hurst, who was murdered by his "friends" with 2 scythes during a camping expedition. He had more than 60 wounds to his head and torso. His body was found in a ditch. 2 17 year old boys and 1 16 year old girl confessed to the crime, and they were problly faced with life in prison. Terry was unemployed, lived with his adopted parents and sister, was involved in a petty crime. The gril was not his or any of the boys girlfriends!

This song is so sad, but yet so beautiful. Oliver's scream is showing how much pain that terry hurst had felt. I can't believe two teens, and one girl would do this for no reason. He didn't do anything wrong, why did he had to suffer through so much pain and agony? And everybody who is confused on if oliver and terry are related or not. They could be related and not. Even if they weren't, I'm pretty sure he would still have wrote & released this song for a are. I. P song of terry. If anyone could help me here, does anyone know why the song is called 'don't go'? I understand the story, but not the whole 'don't go' thingy; anyone?

The song was written about terry hurst, a relative or friend of oli. He was a quiet kid with learning dissabilities and no friends, 3 teens, 1 girl, two boys decided it would be funny to pretend to be his friend. They invited terry on a camping trip where the teens stole a couple of scythes from a churchyard, and attacked him, 60 wounds were found on him and one scythe was embedded in his head. They did actually stamp on his hence the line 'stamped on his face an impression in tthe dirt. ' this song means a lot to oli and it is sung/screamed with pure emotion.

Maybe it did start with the murder, but this song is very relateable and I think it was intended to be. Its a love song about someone too scared or maybe even ashamed to confess their feelings. "if i spilt my guts, it would make a mess we can't clean up. " hes been hurt so much that he can't bring himself to say it, this is the only way he can say it.

"took a boy to the forest, slaughtered him with a scythe" they're definitely talking about this 'terry hurst' guy. I read about him, tow 17-year old boys and a 16-year old girl killed him :( the article reads:.
"a teenage churchgoer was found with a 5ft agricultural scythe embedded in his skull after being killed by three friends during a camping expedition.
Terry hurst, 17, had more than 60 wounds to his head and torso when his body was discovered in a ditch at a moorland beauty spot" when the three who killed him are old enough they will face life sentences.

This song talks about the broblems between he and his girlfriend. She loves him but she cannot be with him because she has personal problems. He can't be with her because the way he was raised, but he doesn't want that the girl left him. Its a codependent relationship, he forget his childhood problems and she just don't want to hurt him anymore. This song came to my life in the perfect moment and somehow describes how ended my relationship with my exgirlfriend, specialy for her part.

It's about how sad he feels that terry hurst was murdered. When oli says god forgive us for all our sins I thing he means that he wants the 3 people that murdered him forgiven. It's really sad I love bring me the horizon. He wants god to forgive the people that murdered terry and for their fight. I love the emotiong he puts into it. It's so sad I could listen to this over and over I also love black veil brides!

It's about terry hurst, who was murdered on a camping trip by three of his 'friends' in a way, oli is asking for god to forgive the people who did it. I think that it feels like in a way he feels responsible for what happened, even though he had nothing to do with it, because he describes being unable to sleep because of the demons that haunt him in the night. It's a beautiful song, full of emotion. I love bring me the horizon.

This song is about Terry Hurst. He was murdered in the woods and one of the people who murdered him was Oliver's cousin. Oliver was also a friend of Terry. I read that he was in the woods with 3 other people and they pretty much brutally murdered him, one of the weapons being (ding ding) that's right a scythe was used during the killing.

The word 'god' in a song doesn't relate the song to religious matters. . _.
It's a story of someone living surrounded by bad people, thing that marks the person for life. That person is ignored by most, but has a special someone, which helps him/her get through life, and he/she is afraid that the someone might leave. The slaughter is metaphorical, those bad people destroying his/her soul. When asking for forgiveness, it shows that the person is ready to die any time. ~le end~.

"took a boy to the forest, slaughtered him with a scythe". I was kinda just thinking, but what if the 'boy' was someones heart, and getting slaughtered was losing the one they loved?
This song could tell different story for every person who listens to it and when they listen to it. A year ago, someone might think of a parent or someone when they listen to it. This year it might be about a guy/girl they love.
Basically, I think it's about someone you can't live without, someone who gives your life it's purpose.

I've done many bad things only to realize later in life that I can't undo whats been done and it haunts me! The guilt is so strong as the years keep building with no one know my secrets except me and the man above. It has me stricken to a point of asking for forgiveness before I end the story. And god explains the only way that will end his long suffering.

This song was dedicated to terry lee hurst, a boy who was murdered when he was 17. He was camping with his 'friends' and one of them returned to their house and had some alcohol to drink but not a lot of it. That one then went to a church that was close to where the four were camping and he stole two agricultural scythes and they chased terry through feilds because they knew he would be defenseless and knowing he would not be able to get away, they eventually got to him and put a plastic bag over his head and stabbed him 60 times with the scythes and stamped and impression of his face into the dirt and kicked him and hit him many times. They later dumped his body in a ditch and a farmer found it the next day and the murderers were two 17 year old males and one 16 year old girl who was 15 at the time. Terry had learning disabilities and a speech impediment of a person 4 years younger than him and him and his brother were both orphans.

This song is dedicated to return hurst and it tells you how he was killed also that the killer is sorry for it, I suspect that there was a affair with a girl that led to his death I haven't read about his death so I am assuming along with the 12"don't go's "that was dedicated to his last moments alive on the earth, the meaning that goes with my life is that shadows where my worst time in my life do far alltho I suspect that I'm in a really bad tome right now and if I look back in a year I will be right.

Terry hurst was murdered like this. Ollie wrote this song to show that no matter what we face we never want god to go but when we do horrible things we get scared and want god to comfort us, when we are scared and facing demons we want god to help us buuuttt "how can i win when i am paralyzed" that is the point where he struggles with obeying christ and all the feelings he has went through with his faith.

He is only referencing to Terry, due to the betrayel, yes. However, the rest of the song is explaining how he has fought his own demons, and is still fighting them. He is explaining that he wants to be forgiven for his own wrongs, andand that he truly needs help. He is pouring his heart and soul, and everything he has into this song, because of how he wants forgiveness, and he needs someone to love him and need him the way he needs them, despite his past.
