I don't think this song is about music piracy. I really doubt that illegal down loading would piss him off that much; most of the money comes from live shows. I think the song is about Motown Records and their greed (explaining the burning $100 bill with mr written on it in the video). I think they took advantage of blue october and sucked away their profits. Justin uses the analogy of a neighborhood thief to represent mr's actions. I really like how the video ends. Every person that the thief stole from stood around to watch him be buried, even police officers. It's justin's way of saying "If you take from us, you WILL pay." Very clever song.

Though the music video shows a burglary, I don't think that the actual meaning of the song is that direct. I suspect that the song is about a woman who's indirectly using him for her own gains, and he's had enough. I just don't think they wanted to make a violently sexist music video for the public to view. The song could be interpreted in different ways, but this is what I feel when I'm listening to it.

The way the song first struck me. It came off as a child who's father left his family for whatever reason. The family was being buried in debt and what not without the extra manpower to help out. This caused the child to hate his/her father in a murderous manner.
Probably not what it means. But that's how it came across to me. Don't flame me either just cause I know nothing of the band or it's members. I merely just had a movie playing in my head as I listened to this song.

Uh, faslane: You think you are on the up and up because you "met" the band and asked a few questions at a rock show? Why don't you do some research. It is obvious that you are merely a fanboy and need to step down off of your high horse. For one, Matt indeed does have a wife and children, so nice try.

It's in reference to them being screwed by the record label and music industry, the video portray's it in a different light. It's very similar to the meaning and lyrics of "Somebody".
Why would it be about a girlfriend when he says "You took the future and the food off my family's plate"? He doesn't have a family and a girlfriend! He has a family! I believe every band member has a children and wives except Matt for one, and if it were about a girl who broke his heart, why would the lyrics say, you took the future and the food off his family's plate? Now that's dumb! He refers to "Piggie" in the song which is referring to "greed"
@ikillbaby's. Wtf? Almost every rock band in the world has sung about corporate greed and being scred by big business and record labels. Do some research before pointing that finger. Justin even says that in the beginning of Somebody off of the "Argue" live version! He says and I quote "just like every other band, we had just got dropped by the record label and they were all whining, wha, wha, wha, DO something"

Its pretty obvious that this song is for all of the people that download music illegaly. That's why he wants to cover you in ants bees and honey to take a picture for the cover of the album, to show what happens to you pirating swine. Also by illegaly downloading instead of buying the album you are taking food off of his and everyother musicians tables. Obviously those who do it do think they own him and are better than him or they would feel they have the right to steel his music. When he says that he will make you comfy for the time spent making you rich he is talking how he wrote this song to be bad a*, and people are going to download it and relize the meaning of the song and feel uncomfortable for doing sonething so sinsiter.
I have to go now my songs just finsihed downloading off of limewire.
