Blake Shelton – Austin lyrics
She left without leavin' a number
Said she needed to clear her mind
He figured she'd gone back to Austin
'Cause she talked about it all the time
It was almost a year before she called him up
Three rings and an answering machine is what she got

If you're callin' 'bout the car I sold it
If this is Tuesday night I'm bowling
If you've got somethin' to sell, you're wastin' your time, I'm not buyin'
If it's anybody else, wait for the tone,
You know what to do
P.S. if this is Austin, I still love you

The telephone fell to the counter
She heard but she couldn't believe
What kind of man would hang on that long
What kind of love that must be
She waited three days, and then she tried again
She didn't know what she'd say,
But she heard three rings and then

If it's Friday night I'm at the ballgame
And first thing Saturday, if it don't rain
I'm headed out to the lake
And I'll be gone, all weekend long
But I'll call you back when I get home
On Sunday afternoon
P.S. If this is Austin, I still love you

This time she left her number
But not another word
Then she waited by the phone on Sunday evenin'
And this is what he heard

If you're callin' 'bout my heart
It's still yours
I shoulda' listened to it a little more
Then it wouldn't have taken me so long to know where I belong
And by the way, boy, this is no machine you're talkin' to
Can't you tell, that this is Austin, and I still love you

I still love you

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Blake Shelton's voice is amazing and you just get chills every time you listen to it. This song it about a man and this girl named Austin, and she left him and went back to live in the city of Austin. A year goes by and she decides to call him up. When she does she gets his voicemail and hears that he still loves her. She calls him back a few days later and gets the voicemail again and leaves her number. On Sunday, when he gets the voicemail, he calls her up and she answers and tells him that she still loves him too.

I love the line " what kind of man would hang on that long , what kind of love that must be" true love right there, the way that he never let her go, he knew in his heart that one day austin would call. And when he changes the andwering machine message, he still says the ps, which if you think about it, he must have been doing it since she left. Blake sheltons voice is perfect for this song.
This is probably one of my favorites.

This song is NOT about a girl called Austin. Read the lyrics and listen carefully to the words of the song. His girl comes from Austin, Texas. He made a voicemail message which said [among other things] if Austin was calling [meaning his girl] he is telling her he still loves her.

This song is so moving! Me and my friends go so true. And then my friend goes a man who does that for a girl is worth keeping! This song personally meant so much to me and I hope Blake Shelton goes on and wright a song like that again. And if he does than that would mean the world to me!
I love this song it has so much meaning to it. It tells me that no one is perfect and if it was we would be stuck with bad people in our lives no second chances an no love that is truly yours and truly imperfect. This song sends a message out to young people that no matter what keep on lovin' and someone will love you back even if you broke their heart they still might believe in second chances!

This is my favorite Blake Shelton song. It always makes me cry though. My favorite part is "If you're callin' 'bout my heart, it's still yours. I should've listened to it a little more, then it wouldn't take me so long to know where I belong. And by the way, boy, this ain't no machine you're talkin' to. Can't you tell, this is Austin and I still love you."
That part always makes me smile, because his love came back. :,)
For me, this song makes me think of 2 people who loved each other but the woman leaves the man. A year later, she wants him back so she tries to call him. She gets the voice mail twice but then leaves her number the second time. He calls her and they are back together again.
I have had a very hard week so this song cheers me up. If someone really loves you, they always come back :).
