Bill Medley – Beautiful lyrics

This song was written by Bill Medley to his ex wife and perhaps love of his life Karen Klaas, that was raped and strangulated on January 30th 1976 at her home in Hermosa Beach California. She was found unconsious and remained comatose until she died five days later. The murder wasn’t solved untill 2016 using familial DNA. The killer turned out to have been shot by police in 1982 during an unrelated incident.
Bill and Karen divorced due to Bill’s infidelity but he regretted having lost Karen and tried for a long time to reconsile with Karen in order to establish a life with her and the son they had together again. At the time of her death Karen had remarried but her husband was cleared of having anything to do with the assult on Karen.
Almost 41 years to the day after the death of Karen, Bill Medley held a press conference to tell the media about the authories finally having been able to find the killer of Karen.
The song “Beautiful” was written by Bill Medley to Karen who by all who knew her was viewed as a wonderful, loving and very special person. At the time of her death Karen had two sons and was discovered by her two close friends and neighbours when she didn’t show up for their usual breakfirst meeting after she had droped of her youngest son of at pre-school the morning of her murder.
