She is likening her love for her beau as to that of Mary for her son, both a blessed gift from God given because of His grace. Ave Maria harkens back to the words of angel Gabriel in telling Mary that she would bear a son. Would it be too far a stretch to assume that Mary was lost before God placed his hand on her, and blessed her with her son?

Beyonce went to st. Mary's catholic elementary school as a child where her singing ability was first discovered in a school talent show. There were probably seeds of catholic spirituality planted in her at that "happy time" of her life. Later on when destiny's child broke apart she fell into a deep depression wondering if anybody could ever love her for herself because of her fame. The song is about herself, feeling somewhat lost, "out in the darkness with no guide. " when she found love and married she discovered something of that joy of her youth and expressed it in at least the opening words of the ave maria so frequently sung at catholic weddings and feasts of the blessed virgin mary.

A lost girl that was adopted. Grown with lots of love and wealth but still alone. This child grows up to find a prince. A man that makes her whole in her lost world. A child that searched out her birth parents only to be rejected for a second time. But her empty world is now complete as she marries her life partner and Ave Maria was the song played as she entered the church doors. Not a single dry eye in the house for all knew her story.
Praise God. She is Blessed!

Ave maria means so much to me the lyrics are the words of an angel and beyonce sung it so beautifully it reminds me when I was lost with no guide and reaching out my hand for someone to save me from fear of being alone only surrounded by friends no family to catch me when I fall but knowing I have a faith to believe and knowing the hunger its greater than words can say I love this song to other can beat this song has brought out the real me telling me to speak when needed and to open up with the hunger to receive a helping hand I can't describe how amazing this song is and hopfully many people can connect with it and smile with the happiness that I feel when I listen to it thank you beonce.

Ave Maria talks to me about the situation I'm in right now in the end of the so "sometimes love can come and pass you by...." It hurts me I really wish my boyfriend comes back to me cause I love him with all my heart and soul plzz come back
