Ben Howard – The Fear lyrics
Mama, cold hearted child, tell me how you feel
Just a blade in the grass, spoke unto the wheel
Mama, cold hearted child, tell me where it's all gone
The luster of your bones, those arms that held you strong

I been worryin' that my time is a little unclear
I been worryin' that I'm losing the one's I hold dear
I been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear

Mama, cold hearted child, tell me how you feel
Just a grain in the morning air, dark shadow on the hill
Mama, cold hearted child, tell me where it all fall's
Oh this apathy you feel will make a fool of us all

I been worryin' that my time is a little unclear
I been worryin' that I'm losing the one's I hold dear
I been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear

Oh I will become what I deserve

I been worryin', I been worryin', I will become what I deserve

I been worryin' that my time is a little unclear
I been worryin' that I'm losing the one's I hold dear
I been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear

Basically, people are and fear being insignigicant- dying without recognition and having achieved nothing. People get caught up in the desire to suceed without truely stopping and just enjoying to simple things in life.
Ben howard has realised such prominant yet simple life traits and put them into beautiful music for us to deciper how we see fit and usaually how best applies to ourselves. The song and many others is what you make of it as life.

-our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. " marianne williamson.
We need to free our minds and our souls in order to be all we can. Fear and worry are destructive and when we free ourselves from these emotions our acheivements can be beyond comprehension, "we'll get what we deserve" or we can stay small and chastined, like a cold-hearted child, cs.

When you lose someone you love we wonder wether life is worth living if you decide you should carry on the feel of guilt always follows you if you try to have a good time, people always say you should get over it but its easier said than done, I think this song is expressing you shouldnt let fear and guilt take over your life you should always carry on with what you do best don't stoop to low, to low standards or bad health conditions you should try your hardest to live up to your normal standards when lost someone you love xx.

Fear holds us back to what we are capable of. If we don't try and overcome it, we will just be living in fear. Fear will be on our minds and worrying us. I lived in fear for such a while that now I am a wreck. This songs make me emotional. I listen to this song all the time and feel this emptiness in side of me but at the same time it makes me cry in happiness.

Well, this is funny, whole day long I've been worrying about something that is totally out of my control and I even thought of giving up and call it quits but today I listened to this song for the very first time in my life. Don't know if I got the meaning right but it sure helped me understand that I can not live an entire life on fear because that same fear will make me lose the ones that I love and at the end it will be worse than that of what I was afraid to begin with// yeah, too literal but true story. So I guess I need to stop being selfish and learn how to deal with my fears.
