    Starting at Thanksgiving 2007, I underwent a severe bout of depression, enough that I checked myself into a hospital. As I was recovering, through the end of November, December, and beyond, "Get Me Through December" was a great comfort to me. God is continuing to heal me, but this song (along with wonderful group therapy) helped take the edge off of a very painful experience.

    When I was addicted to prescription drugs, I was desperate to get off them. When I finally did kick the habit as I would drive to my therapist every week I would play this song in my truck. It has many meanings for me throughout the years, but this is the strongest one. I have loved alison krauss since I was a wee girl, and this is one of my favorites from her. I want this played at my funeral.
