This song provides the perfect amount of magic and the lyrics make this a very catchy song. It also provides a door for you to see how much Aladdin means to Genie later in the movie. He really cares about Aladdin. This song shows a relationship that is almost more important than Aladdin and Jasmine's relationship. This song is the beginning of a very important partnership that affects the overall turn out of the entire movie. Let me explain: If Genie hadn't sang this song to Aladdin, Aladdin wouldn't have realized that he could use Genie to make Jasmine fall in love with him. She did fall in love with him and Aladdin put it together that he couldn't have done it without Genie. Genie is happy that Aladdin got what he wished for. The movie was great and this song is even better. One of the best songs Disney has made.

I love this song. It's about the Genie inviting Aladdin to make a wish on the lamp because he's a special kind of friend. This at first just means a friend who has a lot of stuff that can be used to grant your every wish, but later it evolves in a true friendship. And soon, Aladdin realizes it's not only the wishes and the lamp that makes the genie special and different as a friend, it's the fact that he always has Aladdin's back, even when he isn't bound to him. It's about Aladdin and the Genie's not-yet born friendship. I really love the beat to this song and the subtle foreshadowing. It's in my Top 10 of Disney Songs probably.

It's kind of a spiritual meaning the Genie can be god or just his inner strength breaking free the cave is his cancer and the only way to survive is to fight. This is awakening in him to over come everything in his life. Its powerful it shows with good friendship and a strong willed mind you can overcome anything.
