5 Seconds Of Summer – Social Casualty lyrics
Just a kid, it's all the same
The growing up, it doesn't change
Who are they to try and put us down?

Had enough of what they say
Sick and tired of all their games
Stand up, and sing it with me now

La da
da, la da da da da x2

So save me from who I'm supposed to be
Don't want to be a victim of authority
I'll always be a part of the minority

So save me from who I'm supposed to be
So tell me, tell me, tell me what you want from me
I
don't want to be another social casualty

Just a girl who turned eighteen
She ran away to chase her dreams
They said she wouldn't make it far

She took a chance and packed her bags
She left town and didn't look back

So tired if wishing on the stars

La da da, la da da da da x2

So save me from who I'm supposed to be
Don't want to be
a victim of authority
I'll always be a part of the minority

So save me from who I'm supposed to be
So tell me, tell me, tell me what you want from me
I don't want to be another social casualty

La da da, la da da da da x2

So save me from who I'm supposed to be
Don't want to be a victim of authority
I'll always be a part of the minority

So save me from who I'm supposed to be
So tell me, tell me, tell me what you want from me
I don't want to be another social casualty

La da da, la da da da da x4

Honestly for me personally this song inspires me to be who I want to be in life. Not someone society or my parents want me to be. It makes me want to take a chance in life and prove that I have goals and Dreams that I can accomplish. It makes me realize that I can do great things in life that I don't have to belittle my self by the judgement of others. If you want something in life you have to take a shot in order to score. If you don't take chanced in life then there's honestly no telling what will happen. People say that there is no place like home but if you don't leave home to reach your dreams than what can you do. Don't let poor judgement get in the way of achieving your goals. You'll always be apart of the minority is true be cause there is only few people who want to try, who want to take a shot and achieve there goals in life. This song is one of many that can inspire many people. This song is inexplicably meaningful and inspirational on so many levels and it inspires me to do what I want in life. If your parents want you to be a doctor but you want to be an artist than go for it don't let anyone or anything stop you. That is what I feel Social Casualty is trying to say.

This song is about how, in today's world, individuality is rare. You see kids today trying to be something there not, and that if they aren't who they think they should be by social standards they are a outcast and won't be accepted. This song is about a particular person who is tired of trying to live up to the expectations of the modern world, that yes, they ARE different and are proud of it. Sure, they may be a part of the minority but they are being themselves and living their life as them, not some wannabe. In pare this is also a song about taking chances, and doing things others don't think is safe or is risky. Such as a young girl leaving home to pursue her dream when the people around her just think she should settle down or wait to be older instead of chasing her dream right now. This song is very inspirational and my favourite 5SOS song. This is a true message about expressing yourself and being you.
